Clear Thinking and Decision Making Tips That Can Reduce Stress

Every day, we are faced with a multitude of decisions. Some are subconscious decisions (Looking left or right, or lifting your foot to climb the stairs) while others use your thought process to make the correct decision (Choosing a video or what to cook for dinner) Believe it or not, it takes your bodys energy to make a decision.

There are times when we can be bombarded with decisions. Whether it is at work or in our personal lives the decisions that are made can have a great impact on the way we live. When you make what seems like a million decisions all at once, it can make you be very draining.

It is important that you are clear headed before you make any decisions. When you make decisions in haste or without thinking about the outcome or what the repercussion could be, you could be setting yourself up for more trouble.

Decide How You Decide

According to experts in the field of teaching executive through the decision making process, there are four different types of decision-making people.

A commander is classified as a person who is not patient. Being a commander can results in decisions that are made in haste and often foolish decisions.

Convincers are classified as people who act on their emotion. They decide on what feels good sort of like a gut instinct. They tend to be persuaded into making decisions; sometimes they are not in their best interests.

People who make decisions that are based on their concern for others feeling are classified as being carers, and as such, they tend to take a long time to make their decisions taking into consideration the feelings of all involved.

A person who needs to have all information, no matter how long it takes to collect is considered a calculator. This type of person usually takes an unusually amount of time to make their decision because the information that they request cannot be collected completely.

It is recommended that you make any of your decisions carefully. Take a step back and consider how others will view your decision and take the necessary steps to make the correct decisions.

There are several things that you need to take into consideration before making potentially life-changing decisions. There are rules that apply to all of the decision-making types.

Anyone can tell you that in order to make the correct decision you need to have as much information as possible. It is also important to ask as many questions as it takes for you to be comfortable in making that decision. When you think that you can make an informed take a moment to analyze the information and try to find anything that can be misconstrued or can backfire on you in the future.

Another problem that is common among decision makers is that they have an either-or-attitude. With this type of attitude, your options a limited. Usually, there is a vast array of answers to be found.

Another common problem is that we tend to make many decisions with an either-or attitude. This limits our options when, in reality, there are usually more answers facing us. It is important to use common sense when you make your decisions. You know right from wrong from the values that you have, use this when you make your decisions.

You waste a lot of energy when you try to work through the decision making process without having the right information. However, if you keep your mind on what is important you will find that it is much easier to make the important decisions.

Keeping notes, whether it is mental or on paper, will assist you in becoming more organized.

For some people, meeting objectives and goals can be difficult. If you are one of the millions of people who have trouble with focus and concentration, dont give up; by following simple guidelines; there is hope for you to reach the goals that you have set for yourself.

The place in which you work has its own atmosphere. The office or cubicle in which you work should reflect your personality. It should be quiet, and you should have an adequate, clean workspace, however, if you are going to spend your time there, you should want to be there. When you have this type of environment, you are more likely to accomplish a lot more work.

It has been proven that music has ability to help you focus on the task at hand. The genre of the music is up to the person listening to it. Music can make the everyday distractions that cause you to loose focus, disappear. It is recommended however that you use earphones, as other people may not share the same taste in music.

There are a lot of ways to improve your focus and concentration. If you are unable to do it on your own, workshops and seminars are available in many cities and towns across the country. They are designed to assist you in developing your focus and concentration skills.

If at the end of a long day, you find that you do not have the time or energy to attend a workshop or seminar, you can visit your local bookstore to find thousands of books lining the shelves on the subject improving focus and concentration.

When you feel your focus is slipping, a good way to get it back is to take a bath instead of a shower before work. A shower is usually short, while you can lounge and soak in a bath. You will emerge feeling refreshed and you may find that the stress you had went down the drain with the bath water.

It is a proven fact that when you are hungry, you focus and concentration suffer. While dieting can help you loose weight, it can also decrease your concentration levels. It is important that you eat breakfast, healthy or not, it will assist you to focus better.

The power of positive thinking is very much underestimated in todays society. Self-affirmation can stimulate your brain and give you the boost that you need to focus better. It has been proven to work.

Set Goals to Achieve Success

Despite your best intentions, you will never achieve the success
you are looking for if you never set goals for yourself and your
business.

Ask yourself, "What goals have I written down for myself and my
business?"

Most people never set goals for themselves or their business.
One day leads to another and the days continue to disappear
without success. How can you get to where you want to be if you
never know where you are going?

The biggest roadblock to goal setting is YOU. Setting goals
require you actually to write down your dreams and put a date of
accomplishment to them. Do not get in the habit of working your
business without goals. This leads to apathy and an empty
checking account.

Goals are the lifeblood of your business. Statistics have proven
over and over that small businesses fail within the first five
years. You do not want to become a statistic, you want to become
a success.

How do you become successful at setting goals?

The first step you should do is to write down your dreams. What
dreams do you have for your life and your business? Write them
down. When would you like to achieve these dreams? Put a date
of accomplishment to your dreams. Get a pad of paper and start
writing. Be bold and write them all down. Your dreams are now
your goals.

You now have goals with deadlines. Your first step is
accomplished.

Your goals will either be short term or long term. In order for
your goals to become a reality you will be required to take steps
that will ultimately lead to accomplishment. Look at your list.
What actions will you need to take to reach your goals? Write
those steps down on your pad of paper.

You now know what steps are required to achieve your goals.

Remember that steps are not huge, but small. Daily steps toward
your goals will bring you to the accomplishment of your goals.

Armed with your list of goals and the steps required to achieve
them, you can now start each day as a challenge to accomplish
those goals. But wait, there is something else you need to be
aware of.

"Where did my day go?"

Have you ever reached the end of the day exhausted and asked
yourself that question? You look at your goals and realize that
you did not accomplish one step toward them.

"Time Wasters" are everywhere. Time wasters have their own
agenda: to stop you from achieving your goals. Do not let them
win. To achieve your goals you must learn to recognize your
"time wasters".

Keep a log for every hour of your day for an entire month. Write
everything down that you do. It is easier if you break your day
up into fifteen-minute increments. Do this for one month and you
will be able to identify your "time wasters". Use the
information to learn how to better use your time. The better you
get at effectively using your time, the better you will become at
achieving your goals.

Success doesn't happen to the uninvolved. Success happens to
those who are persistent in reaching their goals. Review your
goals daily and modify them as needed.

You should never be without goals. Dream and make goals to reach
those dreams. Keep your goals before you. Continue to add goals
to you life. Your passion will keep you focused as you
accomplish each step toward your goals. Dare to be successful.

Integrity Before Success !

If you are going to be successful on the internet or any home
business as far as that is concerned, then, integrity must come
before your financial success. Many people are financially
successful on the internet, but some have forgotten the meaning
of true success.

As Jim Rohn (One of the all time favorite motivational speakers)
says, quite often, it is far more important of who you are
becoming, then, what you are earning. Jim even goes so far as to
say that you should work toward becoming a millionaire, not for
the money, but because of who you will become in achieving the
goal.

The stress is on becoming a better person. A person who has
integrity. Integrity is being able to be counted on, to be
depended upon, if you say that you are going to provide a service
or product for a certain amount of money, then you do it. You are
looking out for your customers, as well as yourself.

In most cases your reputation will precede you! You may think
that no one is discovering your flawed business manners, but
actually, the word is spreading and on the net, it spreads quite
rapidly.

One of the universal laws of success is that financial success
follows hard work with honesty. In other words, "help enough
people get what they want and you will find that you receive what
you want." However, if you are just looking out for you, you are
only hurting yourself in the long run. Wouldn't the internet be
so much better if we were all watching out for each other?

One important lesson I have learned when it comes to making a
sale is that people buy from those whom they trust. If they trust
you they will buy from you. If your integrity is guiding you as
you make your presentation to others it will come across to your
potential buyer. You are more likely to make that sell with your
integrity guiding you, then, any other aspect in your
presentation.

It does not matter how well you intellectually present your
service or product, if they detect flaws in your character you
might as well close up your brief case and go home.

Perhaps, even of a greater reward for being a man or women of
integrity is that you will sleep better at night just knowing you
did your best to sincerely help others achieve their dreams. What
can be more rewarding, then, to help others reach their goals?

If you have children, perhaps, that would be the ultimate reason
to permit integrity to lead you. Your children will have someone
that they can be proud of and more importantly someone whom they
can trust!

Success is Choosing What You Want in Life

You can choose success. Do you believe this? If you do not then
you have chosen (yes chosen) a different route and success will
not be a prominent feature! Success is about choosing what you
want in life and taking the necessary steps to achieve that goal.
Success is not stopping until you get there!

Read the last two sentences again. Easy to say but how do you
get there? What are the choices made by the successful? What
are they doing differently from everyone else?

Choose to remove whatever is holding you back. Has something
happened in the past to affect your self esteem? Do you
immediately have negative thoughts as soon as money and success
come to mind? If you are not choosing success then it is likely
that something is blocking your ability to change and follow a
new path. To remove the block you must have focus. To have
focus you must first have an all consuming dream of where you
want to be. Only when you have defined that dream can you start
to focus on it. Focus so intently that everything you do is done
with your dream in mind. Only then can you move toward that
dream.

Choose to live your success. Live your life as if you were
successful, as if you had already achieved the goal that you are
focusing on. When you are at work, visualize what your workplace
will be like when you have reached your goal, and place yourself
there. Sit at your desk as if you were running the multimillion
dollar business that you are focusing on. When you get into your
car, visualize what your dream car will be like and see yourself
sitting in it. Visualize yourself driving away from your dream
house. When you are in your home - look around it and see your
new surroundings. Get inside the feeling - really be there.

The more you do this, the more your subconscious will think that
you are successful and move you towards these things. Live your
success expecting to realize it. Living it now is a practice run
for when it comes to you. After all, you want to be prepared,
don't you?

Choose to believe in your success. What your conscious mind
believes, your subconscious strives to achieve. Look around at
your friends and acquaintances and ask yourself how many of them
have unshakable belief in where they are going. Are they
successful? Possibly not - they may be in a good job and have a
nice life but they do not have the success factor. Perhaps you
do know of someone with unshakable belief. They may not be
successful now but they will be moving in the right direction.
Watch that space....

Belief is the catalyst which takes the dream and turns the focus
into a plan to get there. Never underestimate the power of
belief.

Choose to be emotional about your success. Belief plus emotion
are unstoppable. If you have utter belief then you will develop
emotion. If you want something badly enough it is emotive.
Maybe it is to get out of debt. If you have suffered the
hardships of this situation you will feel everything to do with
debt and money is charged with emotion. This is the reason
behind so many 'rags to riches' stories. Sometimes only the most
devastating of emotional circumstances are the catalyst for
change and a move toward success instead of away from it.

You can choose success. Or you can choose to stay safe and do
what you do now. Guess what - you will still be doing the same
in ten years time. The question is - do you want to?
